Gitmo will continue to be a problem as long as it's open and housing "detainees" (what a ridiculous word! Why not simply call them what they are -- prisoners of war?) The solution: close it -- but first kill all of the bastards, starting with the "fourteen" -- the worst of the worst -- who have just been brought in. Do it during Bush's watch so the next Pres won't have to deal with this continuing embarrassment; this is what Bush would like to have done and probably so would most Americans. Of course, that goes for the POWs too, who devoutly want to go Paradise. On the slim chance that these POWs may have some valuable information about plans among the terrorist cells, with the passing of time that "slim chance" becomes even slimmer because what these POWs knew when they were caught is stale and worthless by now. So there's no good reason whatsover for allowing these bastards to remain alive other than to persuade the world that we're on moral high ground. But the damage that Bush/Cheney have done to our standing in the world is beyond repair by now, and promises only to get worse during the time they remain in office.
